Paradise Solar Project
Coming Soon to
Muhlenberg County, Kentucky
The Paradise Solar Project is being developed in partnership with local landowners who have been in the community for over a hundred years and will be built on reclaimed coal mine land, transforming once-extractive spaces into an engine of clean energy and economic revitalization.
About The Paradise Solar Project
- Paradise Solar Project is located just miles from the historic Paradise Power Plant, once a symbol of coal-fired power and now a landmark of transition.
- The total property size is 6,800 acres. The total solar array will be built on approximately 300 acres, within an industrial development area.
- This project consists of all project components, including a solar panel array, access roads, and other infrastructure necessary for the operation of the facility acres.
- The project will generate 62.5 megawatts DC of solar power, enough to power approximately 5,300 homes annually, while also bringing significant job creation and investment to the region.

Benefits of a Solar Project
A solar project provides a healthy, productive economic development opportunity for local landowners to benefit from a stable generation source….the sun. Benefits include positive impacts to the local economy through tax revenues to local governments. Host communities typically experience economic boosts for local businesses and supply chains and the opportunities for new jobs–primarily during the construction phase. Solar energy projects provide an abundant, sustainable power resource to help stabilize electricity costs. These systems lessen carbon emissions and contribute to the diversification of the nation’s electricity grid. Passive generation requires only sunlight.
Local Economic Impact
Solar power produces direct positive economic impacts by contributing to the economic revitalization of local communities through increases to the local tax base and creating stable revenue to fund local schools and other projects in the community.
